About Me.
Megan McNamara is an interdisciplinary artist based in Cape Town, South Africa, working predominantly in sculpture installation and video art. With a background in Fine Arts, she is interested in working in a conceptually evocative manner with other artists who have a keen eye for collaboration as well as a dedicated approach to interdisciplinary practices. Looking at found objects and systems she uses these objects to change their intended purpose and provide an alternative perspective for the viewer, usually in order to critically question pre-existing systems. Her practice often points to tackling bigger questions of access, historical injustice, and how to create a space for conversation using visual interventions.
